I finally got the replay code in NerdTracker2 to do what I wanted for this project. Since the game is about zombies, I figured I could have an airy, open sound to the songs, with no “cymbal” kinds of sounds, if you will. In this way, I can also have the noise channel open for sound effects. Yeah, I know, it’d be better to have the engine setup so that a certain channel pauses and lets a sound effect happen, then restarts after the sound effect is done. However, I am a brick! I can’t get that to work yet haha
Anyway, so I went through and got rid of everything that the tracker writes to the noise channel in the replay code. It was kind of a pain, but Tepples had a bit of advice for me to check for in a debugger, which really helped.
Here is a beta version of the music. There are going to be a couple of other tunes added to it more than likely, so it’s not complete. At least you can get an idea of what it’s going to sound like. Be careful! There are some high pitched notes in there! Elusion of the Dead – NSF (beta)
